Baghel Singh in Delhi 1783

Giani Gian Singh describes the scene of Baghel Singh of the Karora Misal mounted up, riding alongside other Singhs, through Delhi in 1783.

Baghel Singh mounted his tall elephant, sitting on the rear in a canopy.

All the other countless Sardars mounted their elephants as well in great bliss.

A beautiful whisk was flown around the head of the Singh leaders, who had adorned tiaras and plumes on their turbans.

Going along with them bards were singing their praise with instruments in all sorts of varieties

Many Singhs mounted their horses along with them, with weapons on every limb on their body looking so glorious

They were dressed beautifully in white, dark blue, with some in kesri and yellow, all wearing silk clothing

The swordsmen warriors were strapped to slice, the strong warriors looked so brilliant, lavish and glorious!

Everyone was infatuated looking upon their indescribable beauty, all the men and women were enthralled

They were riding with their beloved horses so gloriously, all of these young dignified warriors

Their straight and clean beards looked so magnificent, their eyebrows, mustaches and eyes were raised up so high!

Drinking plentiful amounts of strong cannabis and consuming opium, the white, blue and yellow flags on their battle standards were waving so elegantly

It was as if Kamdevta [the God of Love], in the most beautiful manner, had himself took form as Baghel Singh.
