The Sikh congregation would first come and bow down to the lotus-like feet of Guru Hargobind, then place their offerings in front of the Guru, [before] throwing coloured powder, it was as if clouds of red powder were rising up, and then the colours dropping were like heavy rains. ⁣

Guru Hargobind, whose face looked radiant like the moon, appeared [in the congregation] like the moon coming to great the evening. Throwing red coloured powder through the air - the Master of the World played Holi. ⁣

Fistfuls of blue powder were thrown in the air, from all sides everyone was partaking in the festivities of Holi, powder-guns [Pichkaris] were being filled with coloured-powder and were shot out at the participants. ⁣
