Patshahi 10 Brimming with Heroic Zest: Sri Gur-Pad Prem Prakash (1880)

Baba Sumer Singh, in his beautifully written Braj Bhasha text, the Sri Gur-Pad Prem Prakash (1880), recounts the final hours of Guru Gobind Singh's life, and writes a magnificent description of the Tenth Master:

From head to toe He is beautifully adorned, from His plumed turban, to his Sri Sahib, His Sword, fastened with a shoulder-belt, Guru Gobind Singh's sight is enchanting and brims with heroic zest [bir ras].

Holding a Pata [straight sword], while strapped with a Bichua [scorpion like dagger], khanjar [curved dagger], baank [sickle like dagger] and a pesh kabz [straight armour piercing dagger], He is the embodiment of purity and saintliness, while having fastened two quiver's, filled with arrows, to His waist sash [kamarkasa].

In his hand, He is holding a bow and is wearing a large-pearl rosary, His head is adorned with a Khanda [double edged sword], a Karad [small dagger], a Chakram [quoit]; giving an overwhelming sight of a worldly and spiritual king.

The Highest Master, is seated on his throne in the posture of a warrior; because Guru ji has expressed his desire to proceed to the next world, the Realm of Truth [Sachkhand], today.
