Practice is Supreme - Bhai Gurdas

By just saying, "Sugar! Sugar!" one's tongue does not experience sweetness, by just saying "Heat! Heat!" one does not rid themselves of the cold.

By just saying, "Doctor! Doctor!", one's disease is never removed, by just saying, "Wealth! Wealth!", one does not enjoy the pleasures of prosperity.

By just saying, "Perfume! Perfume!", beautiful fragrances do not arise, and just by saying, "Moon! Moon!", one does not experience the radiance of light.

In the same way, by just having conversations about wisdom one's discipline is not formed; Practice is Supreme, and through it, like the sun rises to the highest point of the sky, wisdom emerges forth into the highest realms of the Self.
